RS1010EB Reconfigurable Radio Transceiver Platform

The RS1010EB is a development platform based on the RS1010 broadband reconfigurable radio transceiver. The RS1010EB enables the transmission and reception of wireless communication signals in the frequency range between 0.7 GHz  and 6 GHz. The wide frequency range of the RF transmitter and receiver stages enables the development of multiple applications based on the RS1010 in the sub 6 GHz frequencies.

The RS1010EB incorporates all functionalities offered by the RS1010 reconfigurable radio transceiver.  At the transmitter and receiver RF terminals, passive balun structures provide the impedance matching and the differential to single ended transformation for the RS1010. At the baseband, the maximum baseband channel bandwidth is defined in 20 MHz with the possibility to scale down the bandwidth to 200 KHz. 

The RS1010EB integrates a TCXO to generate the clock and reference signals. An option to apply an external reference frequency is also supported. 

The RS1010EB provides a 12-bit analog to digital converter (ADC) and a 14-bit digital to analog converter (DAC) to interface with the digital baseband. A wide range of DAC and ADC sampling frequencies can be independently selected to meet the sampling frequency requirements of diverse wireless systems. An analog IQ interface is also available in the RS1010EB for applications using external DAC and ADC devices through an analog IQ interface.                              Download RS1010EB product brief

Key Features

An important feature of the R1010EB is the integrated programmable system on chip. It allows the configuration of the RS1010 reconfigurable transceiver through the SPI interface and support for the evaluation of RS1010 reconfigurable radio transceiver. The interface with the host PC is accomplished through the USB interface.

The RS1010EB minimizes the complexity to analyze and verify the RS1010 receiver front-end and facilitates the development of applications based on the RS1010.

Since the RS1010EB has a high level of programmability and flexibility, the platform could be configured to alternative applications. In this case, an understanding of the customer specifications and requirements is needed.
